Fire Corps

Supporting Fire and EMS Services through Community Involvement

Community members can make a difference for their local fire and EMS department. Fire Corps helps departments build more capacity by connecting them to community volunteers who can assist in a variety of non-emergency roles.

In Sammamish, Citizen Corps’ Fire Corps program operates as the Sammamish ARES/RACES Groupe. SARGe supports Eastside Fire and Rescue through the department’s Support Service Volunteer, (SSV), program.

SARGe consists of licensed Ham radio amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in public service to be available when disaster strikes and causes the disruption of normal communications services in the area.

Every licensed amateur living in Sammamish, regardless of membership in American Relay Radio League, (AARL), or any other local or national organization, is eligible for membership. The only qualification, other than possession of an amateur radio license, is a sincere desire to serve.

W7SRG, the City of Sammamish ARES/RACES Net, meets every Sunday night at 7:00pm, Pacific time. A monthly meeting is held the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm, in the community room of Eastside Fire and Rescue Station #83 at 3425 Issaquah Pine Lake Rd. SE Sammamish, WA 98075
