About Sammamish Citizen Corps Council

Sammamish Citizen Corps Council is a 501(c)(3) community-based, 100% volunteer organization nationally chartered through DHS/FEMA to help everyone be safer from natural disasters, terrorism, crime, public health issues, and other medical emergencies.
We offer a framework for connecting Sammamish citizens, elected officials, business leaders, and school representatives through programs in community awareness, response training, and volunteer service.

Sammamish Citizen Corps Council meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm - 8:00pm at Eastside Fire & Rescue Station #82 1851 228th Ave NE, Sammamish WA 98074 (map)

Want to get involved? Volunteers in these program areas are urgently needed:
  • Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
    • Volunteer medical and non-medical personnel who are interested organizing, training and helping support Sammamish and King County.
  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
    • Class Facilitators to assist Instructors during classes
    • Volunteers to help with program logistics, operations and administration
  • Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS)
    • Program Coordinator
    • Volunteers interested in providing support to the Sammamish Police department
  • Sammamish residents who are:
    • Currently active or interested in becoming licensed HAM radio operators
    • Certified First Aid / CPR Instructors
    • Experienced in grant writing and fund raising for non-profit organizations
    • Experienced in web design, CMS, and .NET software development and implementation
    • Enthusiastic and experienced in social media-based public relations
    • Recognize the importance and value of pro bono and volunteer work in Sammamish!
